Clare has worked regularly with ArtPlay, a world-leading children’s arts centre in the heart of Melbourne. The focus of the work has been two-fold: professionally developing artists and teachers, and creative consultation with users of ArtPlay.
After an initial consultation with Artplay’s Chief Executive, Simon Spain, she designed and delivered several drawing focused training sessions for the ArtPlay artist team and teachers from across Melbourne.
These sessions were linked to Clare’s role in the UK as an Associate of the Campaign for Drawing.
After the success of these professional development days, Clare was subsequently asked to to design a creative review and feedback mechanism for ArtPlay. The result was ‘Have A Say Day’, a highly engaging opportunity for regular users of ArtPlay to say what they felt about the centre’s programmes.
Using a range of facilitative techniques, children and their parents were given the tools to creatively comment on their experiences, and what they’d like to see in future provision.
She is looking forward to another session in May 2015 – ‘A World of Drawing – exploring people, places and spaces’
